So this weekend has been pretty cool.  For Thanksgivving I went out to eat with my mom  On black friday I went out with Blin to go and try to snag some deals on tech stuff and clothes.  Here's how it went down.  So  I was thinking, hey, people don't want to line up in front of bestbuy more than an hour before the store opens.  Let's go at 4 and see how it turns out (store opens at 5).  Well, after arriving at 4:20ish, we see a HUGE  line going AROUND the corner from out of the parking lot and wrapping around the block and down the street again.  So we go stand in line and then slowly the line begins to grow some more until we are in the middle of the line.  It was really creepy actually.  But yah, so they let us in and we were crammed into the store like sardines.  I used Blin as my blocker and we pushed our way through the wandering people, making a beeline straight for the dvd-burner section.  As we approached the DVD burners we look around frantically for the one pictured inthe ad and We see it!!!  there are three left on the table!  So I juked my way Reggie Bush style through the remaining people and lunged with my outstretched arms and plopped them on two of the drives.  Victory!!!  O sweet victory.....

So that was a good feeling.  Gettin the 2 of the last 3 DVD burner drives.  a 16 SPeed DVD+- Dual Layer Burner capable of burning up to 8.5 GB of data onto a single DVD! CRAZY!  for 40 bux too...Then tired and battered we checked out of the store and went around to try and get some sweet deals at other tech places, Circuit city, staples, office depot, Compusa, but i guess they were ransacked by the opening time people.  We also checked out Express at the mall, Man.  The line was SOOOOO long.  But i got some weet deals there.  dress shrits for 20 bux, and a pretty nice long sleeve for like 12 bux.  And they threw in a beanie/scarf combo (44 dollar value) for... FREE!!! man.  that was cool. But yah.  So that concludes my adventures thus far.  Have a great rest of the weekend every1!

  • Great now I can start.  So being in school is quite the time.  On one hand I love it. On the other hand I don't.  So why does such a dichotomy exist?  I don't know. haha, besides, how deep can you really go into this kind of stuff in a weblog?! i don't know... anyway, school has been chuggin along as usual, I think midterms are finally over.  Except I have quiz next week... that is sort of like a midterm... but I think it will be alright.  So what has happened since my last update?  Well, of note, are the "no limit" campus retreat at the end of october and just chillin at the apt.  I hardly have had any time to really do anythin, so no time for adventures on the streets of LA.  O ... except for that one excursion into the fashion district.  haha, dat was pretty cool.  My roomie and I decided to go look for our halloween costumes in the fashion district, so we hopped onto the dash and made a transfer and bam we were there.  The fashion district of LA is not too shabby of a place.  There are a ton of stores and places to buy clothes and all that sort of stuff.  It was sort of reminiscent of the night markets in Taiwan, except a WHOLE lot more spread out and a WHOLE lot LESS booths for food.  When I first stepped into the whole experience, I was very impressed because of all the shops, but as I began to walk further into the fashion district, I became less impressed.  The stores all sold pretty much the same thing.  None of them really stood out.  and there was no food.... sad.... so, disappointed we left and went to little tokyo for some good eating and maybe look for a kimono as a costume, but they are expensive!! 65 bux man...  ANyway, enough about that, I will post some pics to appease the picture lovers out ther. o yes, you do love pictures...

Getting to the retreat we were greeted by the melodiously sweet voices of Jon Augustine, he led us in a night of worship.  Theres just something about singing that makes me feel good.  I love to sing, just pick the right song and I will sing my heart out. o yes, maybe some moulin rogue...

The next day we went out in the morning to go spend some time in nature and just meditating on God and life and stuff like that.  We took a hike to this river and got to chill there for a bit. After that was free time!  So my roomie and I walked around camp to find stuff to do, but every1 seemed to be talkin, while we wanted to go play ball or something.  So we busied ourselves with things like this, Swings =).  Man on the second pic, when I landed I did a tumble b/c my angle was too wierd, and there were these ppl on the swings that saw... it was sorta embarassing. but hey, i got a cool pic outta it.

Then at night time was the awesome dance party.  The dress code was: costume.  So me and ross put on our expert solid snake camo gear and prepared to go.  The retreat was at a camp in the middle of the foresty mountains, so we had a lot of cover.

Here are some pics of the costumes

Man, we had a cool time scaring people int he woods.  One time I was hiding in the middle of the path, just lying w/ my stomach down, waiting for people to come, and this guy walks in my direction.  He just keeps walking until he is 1 foot away from me, then I SPRING up like a cheetah! and scare him!  hahah, it was cool, he was quite startled.  That was but one of our many victories as spies. o yes. So that was the retreat pretty much.  There were a bunch of lessons about taking our walk w/ God and having "no limits" <- the theme for the retreat.  I liked them a lot and they made me think how we retrict ourselves in the worship and glorification of God.Anyway, back at the apt we study a lot b/c we are nerds.  so this studying often times gives rise to insanity.  To things you would usually not do but do b/c you can.  Things that don't really make sense... trying take down moves in extremely confined spaces, serenading each other w/ the likes of moulin rogue, creeping around and scaring people randomly, and lots of other things.... this is Ross climbing across the ladder which spans the top of our loft beds.

This is Ryan "wearing" my jersey and talking to my kitty alarm clock.

So yah, apartment life is fun, but I so can not wait for break to come. SNOWBOARDING!!!!! and just chillin w/ friends. itwill b a very welcome break.  Anyway, have a great rest of the sem ppl!Why is Mammoth so awesome?!?!?!?!?
